My allotment antics and beekeeping
part 2 aquaponics build
even though I tried building this cheaply, it'll still end up costing around £400

fancied a bit of tinkering time and as I already have solar panels, a wind turbine seemed a good idea

What about the charger how did you fix that
To be honest, it's so long ago I can't remember and I no longer tinker with these
What do you use to film it with?
A basic go pro action camera on a chest mount
nice to see that you are still doing the bees mate, Chris H
Only just fella, reduced done to two hives and tend to let them look after themselves, I'm more into growing on the allotment including hydraponics and aquaponics
This is excellent! Great work! Gonna subscribe to see any upgrades you do
3D printed blades?
Don't own a 3d printer, but the road cone blades are doing brilliant 👌
Human ingenuity at its best, technology is to be used to make things easier and life more available, just because there's 3d printer available don't neet to justify its existence by using it, efficiency is a myth, and relative to past data sets, true efficiency is to deliver with tangible assets and resources at hand, a true engineer... Nice keep it going
Make it collapsible
Tip: the lower part of the blade must be bigger to withstand the centrifugal forces. Also adjusting the angel of attack of the blades may help with heavy winds.
Back to the drawing board. You'll get there!
I'm there lol, only took a day of tinkering
wider and longer blades if not spinning.

In English?
Do you sell these if so how much ?? Theyd be totally legal to ride yes ??
No, no and no
@@Shakingstevesallotment thanks for the rude reply 😒
How was it rude, I answered no to all three questions, just can't please some people
@@Shakingstevesallotment well you could have explained why u said no to each question to spread awareness as to why the answer was no so then people have a clearer view I was invested in ur channel until the no no no reply makes me think I'm not worth an explanation into why the answer is. No or that you don't know why the answer is no
And also maybe there's a market for these I know I'd pay to buy one you could easily make money off these as they actually are legal to ride on pavement as long as cops don't catch u doing 50 on one
Can you please show me where exactly it goes…..thank you
If you cannot see the hole from that video I'd suggest specsavers first
That was an draught compared to here. What you gonna do with all the produce Steve
Eat it and have a go at making strawberry jam
It’s imagine you could just wire backwards
Pray u didnt take the shot or boosters.. Take care
where did you order them from
Lol
What's the answer
It got binned as no one gave an answer to my question
Just a wiped out battery internally I guess
Might be that Someone charged it dead with reversed polarity.I got a battery from a friend once who did this and I had to fix the battery after. If not idk.Good luck.
Well i filled with fresh water, and I put a 0.1 Amp trickle charger on my reverse polarity battery left it for about a week and it totally fixed itself..
Have you a video on how you set this all up?
No, as per pictures and video it really is simple, the box charger has icons printed on it for what wires go where and very easy to understand instructions, a trained monkey could do it 😊
So what solar panel did you use? How much voltage/amp does it output? You attach the Solar panel to the Solar regulator then to the battery? But the timer isn't attached to the battery, it's attached to the regulator. You have dual wires into the timer do they go to the motor? I failed monkey training, the food was poor. :) @@Shakingstevesallotment
@timnic3850 the panel kit is from a company called nicesolar 100w you can find them on amazon for all the tech stuff, the timer is a cn101a and can be found on UA-cam for wiring info including the jumper wire
Did you ever sort this issue. I had the same. Used keyless start and its worked ever since
Where did u get ur handlebar cover from please
Ebay, it still wasn't big enough and had to be cut
No volume,,, does it work
Just got my JH700 out for the summer. No used it for a few months. It won't work in reverse and the throttle is sticking. Can you help please?
Try spraying wd40 on both twist grip and reverse switch
What types of Tomato you got? I actually grown ,,spring onions, cucumbers, and cabbage this year 😁
Think there's alicante, money maker and some unknown bought from boot sale 😅 but also got some artisan, yellow striped ones in a hydraponics kit
@@Shakingstevesallotment I'd love too find some of those huge tomatos (seeds) we tried over ward avenue allotments all them years ago!
@@WaspTaylor I've got seeds for huge strawberries 🍓
Nice job 👍 I just found your channel and subscribed. Thanks, good health and God bless
Sadly do not make my own hives anymore, but still keep bees, thanks for the kind words
@@Shakingstevesallotment that's cool I'll still be watching. Good health and God bless 👍
Let us know the results
Thanks for the video, seems to be a bit hit or miss, and maybe harder work than you imagined? I was thinking of doing this but I think for all it's worth just best to keep dinghy in bag and blow up at destination like I usually do. That way you don't have to worry about wind resistance etc. That said I have got a 30 mile journey to the coast down a stretch of motorway. I can see this would be more credible for regular short drives to the launch site.
Yeah, my launch site I'd about 5 minutes away lol
Interesting idea, Stephen. Any conclusions?
Only that I don't carry out any form of varroa control myself, I only want strong bees,,I tend to stop beekeeping in October, and start again April, and these bees are still flying
Pimping
just to check, did you do that on your own? ;)
Yup, silly of me but had no willing helpers that day lol
@@Shakingstevesallotment bloody management - can never be found when some actual work needs to be done (I used to be a manager, so I know of what I speak ;)) . Anyway, thanks for the vid - made me laugh out loud a few times, which is always welcome :)

That's no longer with us lol, that 48v motor Is now on a tricycle, and that shoprider is undergoing 4 hub motor wheels, adding suspension etc, 🤣

You shake like you drank a pot of coffee lol!
Stubbsy you are a nutter!!! 🤣🤣🤣
That's so funny!!! Have you foam filled the tyres?
No,,normal tyres and tubes
Love the wheelies!!! lmao
You shake like I do. The more I try to control it the shaking actually gets worse. I have used the "one hand" and it works well for me. You need to be aware of the queen's location when you open it back up. There is a possibility of catching the queens' legs and pinching her...beware.
You Tit!!!! Thats flippin hilarious!!!
keep the video coming, which welder did you get ?
Reboot arc welder 1400
The last couple of welds was much better with a longer smoother stroke. Mine arrives tomorrow & the mrs now knows & just said OK! I’m safe lol Well done
All figured out, door lock is Chinese for ignition
interesting how do get the wax from them
You remove old frames every 2yrs and melt the wax down
@@Shakingstevesallotment kool do then sell that off
@ballkeeper666 this vids a few years old,, times change
Are you running bee hives to produce honey, or to populate you're area with bees? I have seen bees completely fill up multiple supers from the time of your last video of this fridge until now. Just a question sir please no offense given. I'm just asking cause I don't know. I'm not a bee keeper but very interested in it. Watch multiple channels so I'm just curious what you're grand plan is. Looks like you're not trying to produce honey to sell, but when I see that much time go between hive checks and they really hadn't produced any honey I'm curious what your doing. That is all pure curiosity. Thank you for the content sir. Enjoy your day
My main mission was to see if by upcycling something that could be made for free or minimal cost, if it would help others on low income to become beekeepers, I was put off keeping bees for a year because I was told it would cost a minimum £600 plus, my way you could start for minimal outlay
Also these frames are the equivalent of 3 super frames deep, I never look at honey production until the colony is one year established so would not expect honey until 2023
@@Shakingstevesallotment thank you for the info sir
Would those bees might be able to get in and out easier if you had slot openings like regular hives? Have you noticed a difference with any type of production with a regular box hive with the slot opening at the bottom compared to having just those holes for openings? Thanks again for the content. Have a good one
P.S. It's hard to see what your talking about when the lense cap is in the way of you're video view. Lmao just a joke man no offense given. Still decent content. Thank you
@@cypher8855 was a new camera, so didn't notice that till editing lol
I have lots hives with different openings, although I have a few fridge hives 5 minutes from where I live, the majority are made to use in my woodland with minimal interference from me, using pipes gives the bees an easier defence against predators, mice & hornets,
@@Shakingstevesallotment which hives produce more honey? The regular ones or the fridges or is it pretty even?
@@cypher8855 so far I cannot say for sure, the last few years have been terrible for me across all hives and my own general health, I started converting the fridges at the start of covid lockdown purely as something to do,
